============================================================================== DRIVERS 1.0 ============================================================================== DRIVERS 1.0 is a program that loads your autoexec.bat and config.sys files for paticular programs that you will be running and then reboots your computer for you. It is very fast and has alot of advanced function. If you are always changing your autoexec.bat and config.sys files then this program is for you. With DRIVERS 1.0 you can have as many different autoexec.bat and config.sys files as you want. So once you get one tuned to the paticular program that you will be running all you do is tell DRIVERS what the name of that file is and what program it is for and it will remember it for you. Then when you start DRIVERS and go into [Load Drivers] it will have a list of programs that you can pick from. Just pick the program and then press [Load Drivers] and it will copy the autoexec.bat and config.sys files, you told it were for that program to the root drive under the name "Autoexec.bat and config.sys". That means that your autoexec.bat and config.sys can be any name you wish because DRIVERS will copy it to the right name on the root drive. DRIVERS has a full text editor so you can make changes to any of the autoexec.bat and config.sys files for a paticular program. It also has online help with hyper text that you can change and add to if you like. The help file is a ASCII file and can be edited with any DOS text editor. There are many other features to DRIVERS and you will find it to be great help to load drivers and reboot your computer fast. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ============================================================================== INSTALLING DRIVERS 1.0 ============================================================================== 1. Create a directory on your hard drive whatever name you want it to be. Copy the Drivers.exe and drivers.hlp file into that directory and change to that directory. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU BE IN THAT DIRECTORY WHEN YOU RUN DRIVERS FOR THE FIRST TIME. When you first run DRIVERS it will bring you to the DEFAULTS screen and ask you for the directory and boot drive. Once you have typed in the name of the directory and boot drive then press save. This will hardcode the name into the drivers.exe file so that it will always have that information. The Boot drive is the drive which your computer boots up to when you turn it on. "EXAMPLE C:\". The directory would be "EXAMPLE C:\DRIVERS\". 2. The contents of the zip file is listed below: a. Drivers.exe The exacutable for DRIVERS b. Drivers.hlp The help file for DRIVERS c. Readme.txt This file 3. Next, you can start using DRIVERS 1.0. The message that appears when you start the program will appear every time you start DRIVERS. Also the EDIT DRIVERS button and DEFAULTS button will not be usable to you. If you register, you will be sent register info that will enable the buttons for you so that you can use those functions. When creating names for the autoexec.bat and config.sys files for the different programs that you will be running try and name them something that you can see what they are for: a autoexec.bat file for Windows 3.1 could be autoexec.win a config.sys file for Windows 3.1 could be config.win a autoexec.bat file for Harvard Graphics 3.0 could be autoexec.hg3 a config.sys file for Harvard Graphics 3.0 could be config.hg3 NOTE: Make sure that you put these files in the directory where you installed DRIVERS. That is where DRIVERS will look for these files. 2. You should make sure that your Directory for drivers is in every "Path=" statment in every autoexec.bat file that you have. This will alow you to start DRIVERS from any directory that you may be in. 3. You can change the help file to sute you for the description of the function that you use the least.
